The Orthopaedic Associates Staff

All providers at Orthopaedic Associates are required to be Board Certified or Board Eligible for inclusion in the practice. Board Certification requires a level of excellence beyond even the expectations of Medical School, Residency and Fellowship programs.
To become certified by the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a physician must have completed an extensive number of cases, have a high success rate, and pass rigorous written and oral testing. The oral portion of the certification exam is completed with a Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons who review a large number of actual cases the physician has treated, and require the applicant to defend the procedures used and the outcomes of those cases.

Orthopaedic Associates provides the most advanced, professional orthopaedic care in a personal, friendly manner. When you choose OA, The Bone & Joint Specialists, you will be treated with dignity and respect by our experienced staff.

Administrative Staff

Our administrative staff, including front desk, insurance, billing, and other support personnel, is highly trained to efficiently manage patient records, insurance, and billing. We use state-of-the-art electronic medical records to decrease errors created by paper charting. This enhances the quality of your experience at OA.

The administrative staff is also dedicated to fostering a friendly, personable, helpful, and caring environment. We strive to greet all patients and family members promptly, with a smile, using your name once we know it.

Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs)

Working under the direct supervision of our office nurses, physician assistants, or surgeons, Certified Medical Assistants provide vital assistance in a wide variety of clinical, laboratory and administrative roles. All medical assistants at Orthopaedic Associates have received additional education and training to become Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs). Certification is a voluntary process which is strongly backed by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and a number of other, well-respected certification bodies in the U.S., as a way to guarantee competency of medical assistants.

Nursing Staff

The nursing staff at Orthopaedic Associates is a highly-skilled, well-organized, and resourceful team with a wealth of orthopaedic experience. The nurses have a close working relationship with the surgeons at Orthopaedic Associates, and will be involved during every aspect of your care, both in our offices and at the hospital.

In addition to general nursing duties such as changing dressings, removing staples and stitches, and maintaining organization of the surgeons' daily office routines, our nurses have higher-level skill sets than many of their nursing peers. They assist with in-office medical procedures, apply and remove casts, provide pre-operative and post-operative instructional care, and assist with the oversight of patients during a hospital stay.

Physician Assistants

Physician Assistants (PAs) practice medicine, assist in surgeries, perform medical histories and examinations, order treatments, diagnose illnesses, interpret diagnostic tests, perform procedures, and refer patients to specialists in other fields when appropriate.

At OA, Physician Assistants always work under the supervision of a surgeon. If one of our Physician Assistants provides care to you or your family member, you can rest assured that a surgeon will still be very involved in that care. The use of Physician Assistants improves our efficiency and allows us to provide care for everyone in need, as our community is actually underserved by orthopaedic surgeons.

Surgeons

The OA team of orthopaedic surgery specialists is made up of 10 professionals dedicated to helping patients of all ages and backgrounds return to a state of health and wellness after suffering from injuries or illnesses related to their bones and joints. Keeping abreast of the latest, most technically advanced medical procedures is as vitally important to us as it is to our patients, making it easier for you to receive the level of care you deserve and expect right here at home.
