Worker's Compensation Services

If you've been injured at work, OA will strive to get you back in shape–and back on the job–in a timely, effective manner.

Our surgeons are trained in a variety of areas, to help you recover from Worker's Compensation-related injuries. That includes treatment for injuries that require hand/microsurgery; wrist, elbow, shoulder, back, knee, foot, or ankle surgery; or treatment in sports medicine.

At OA, we also offer our patients on-site x-ray, MRI, and EMG, and have physical therapy readily accessible on our campus.

Materials Required for Second-Opinion Appointments or New Patients with Previous Treatment

Any patient with previous treatment from another physician must bring all existing reports, films (both MRI and x-ray), and consult notes or progress notes. Second-opinion patients and new patients who have had prior treatment WILL NOT BE SEEN without all appropriate medical documentation of that treatment.

Customer Service

OA wants to make your worker's compensation claim as easy as possible. That's why, along with offering you the best, most professional treatment, we also help with the technical aspect of your claim.

With two nurses on staff trained in worker's compensation, OA will help you through the entire process–from scheduling your first appointment, to paperwork, through your final visit and beyond. We always have a nurse on-site to help with communication between your insurance company, your employer, your case manager, and your doctor.

Our goal is to make your worker's compensation claim as easy as possible, so you can focus on what's really important: your recovery.

Return to Work Policy

At OA, we believe you should be allowed to return to work as soon as it is safe for you to do so.

That's why, every time you visit your doctor, you will receive a work status form. The form, which your worker's compensation nurse will fax to your employer and insurance company, spells out exactly what work is or is not safe for you to undertake.

While the ultimate responsibility for following these guidelines falls with you and your employer, OA wants to make your return to work as safe as possible. After we fax the form to your employer, we encourage you to take your copy to work, as well, to make certain your employer is aware of your restrictions–and to ensure that they are followed at all times.

Attention: Employers

If one of your employees is injured on the job, referring him or her to Orthopaedic Associates could be in your best interest.

Communication and safety are our priorities when treating a worker's compensation injury. So when your employee is being treated by an OA specialist, our worker's compensation nurses will keep you informed on the patient's progress.

At OA, we believe in returning your employees to work as soon as safely possible. And when we do, we'll work with you to keep the injury from recurring.

For more information on making OA your worker's compensation choice, contact us at (812) 424-9291 or (800) 264-1208.
